Our strategy method: find the real question, make the hard choices, govern the doing

Stradigo's strategy method is a three-phase approach to corporate strategy, refined over 200+ engagements since 2007, and we call the whole of it the Captain Process. It is senior led, AI assisted, and built so the answer lands on a single dynamic Strategy 1Pager and gets executed without losing course.

1 · Find the real question

2 · Make the hard choices

3 · Govern the doing

Trusted by 100+ organisations across Finland and the Nordics since 2007.

Built for CEOs, owners and management teams who want one connected system from owner intent to weekly execution in Finnish, Swedish or English.

Strategy work fails when it answers the wrong question, so we hunt the hidden cause first.

Phase one takes one to two weeks. It centres on a 90-minute structured conversation with the CEO, complemented by AI-assisted analysis of internal data, customer signals and market context, with the management team and board brought in through interviews and surveys. The deliverable is a sharpened problem statement: what the strategy actually needs to solve.

We diagnose before we prescribe. Most failed strategies are confident answers to the wrong question.

Once the real question is named, we crystallise the answer onto one page.

Phase two takes two to four weeks of facilitated working sessions with your leadership team. It selects the right growth levers, makes the hard choices, and compresses them onto the Strategy 1Pager, vision, choices, goals, breakthrough projects and cadence. The deliverable is the page itself, owned by the team that made the choices.

This is where owner intent, customer strategy and scenarios converge into a single, communicable decision.

Then the Captain Process keeps execution alive, strategy is governed, not filed.

Phase three runs from the first month onward: delivery through the Captain Process with named captains, a captain's table on a steady rhythm, and visible progress in funded sprints. Leadership stays involved at the decision level; the work stays owned by the teams.

A strategy you cannot execute is an expensive document. Governance is half the job.

AI runs through every phase, to sharpen judgement, never to replace it.

We use AI to ingest more data, surface blind spots and build sharper scenarios, while senior consultants run every session and your team owns every choice. Augmentation, not automation.

It is better human judgement supported by better tools, the honest version of AI in strategy work.

Three routes to the same one-page strategy: traditional, digi-facilitated, or dynamic.

The method does not change, the delivery does. All three routes run the same three phases and land on the same Strategy 1Pager; the choice is about speed, depth of tooling and what your organisation is ready for.

  • Traditional: facilitated workshop craft, thorough and familiar, but as manual work also the slowest and most expensive route.
  • Digi-facilitated: the same craft on a digital board, faster rounds and more time for the strategic conversation itself.
  • Dynamic: AI agents accelerate the analysis, market scans, scenarios and synthesis land in days rather than weeks, and stay on to support execution. The fastest route, and the one we recommend when the ambition allows.

If a strategy in weeks sounds too fast for your people, that is exactly why the design works: the speed comes from the agents, the commitment comes from the conversations, and the saved time is spent on precisely those conversations.

Engagement is a ladder, not a leap, you start small and expand as trust builds.

Most clients climb the same ladder: a free discovery call to check fit; a focused diagnostic call where we map your situation together; an Aimo Sprint, a short, fixed-scope starter engagement with our AI working partner Aimo, or a scoped strategy review where the method proves itself; a full strategy process when the ambition calls for it; and, when it fits, an ongoing strategic partnership that wraps the whole method over 3 to 12 months.

Because strategy decisions involve several people on your side, there is never pressure for an instant yes, only a clear next step that is genuinely a fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is Stradigo's strategy method?

A three-phase approach we call the Captain Process: hidden-cause diagnosis, growth-lever selection crystallised onto a dynamic Strategy 1Pager, and execution governed with named captains, senior led and AI assisted, refined over 200+ engagements since 2007.

How long does a strategy engagement take?

Phase one takes one to two weeks; phase two takes two to four weeks of facilitated sessions; and execution governance runs from the first month onward. A compressed strategy update fits in a few weeks; a full process takes two to three months; a strategic partnership spans 3 to 12 months.

What does an engagement cost?

It depends on scope, a focused review is a different commitment from a full strategy process or an ongoing partnership. A free discovery call checks whether we are a fit; if we are, we scope the right route, and the honest cost of it, together in a follow-up diagnostic conversation before you commit to anything.

How is Stradigo different from a big consultancy, doing it yourselves, or an AI tool?

Each route can work; they trade off different things. A large consultancy offers scale and breadth, usually at enterprise prices. Doing it in-house keeps full ownership, but it is hard to step outside your own assumptions. An AI tool produces options quickly, but without senior facilitation or accountability for the choices. Stradigo combines senior facilitation, your team's ownership of every decision, and AI acceleration, held together by a named system for execution.

Is the method AI-led?

No. AI is woven through every phase to accelerate analysis and sharpen scenarios, but senior consultants facilitate every session and your leadership team makes every decision. We are AI-assisted, not AI-led.

Who leads the engagement?

A senior partner, typically Markus Westerlund, the creator of the method, supported by the right combination of the four-person senior team. There is no junior layer.

Does the method work in Finnish, Swedish and English?

Yes. We run engagements in all three languages across Finland, the Nordics and Europe.
